Connect your TV or box
Your phone does not need developer options enabled. Your TV must support and enable network debugging.
1. Check devices and network
Use an Android 8.0+ phone and a TV or box with network ADB support. Wi-Fi and Ethernet can work together on the same local network. Guest networks or access-point isolation may block the connection.
2. Enable TV debugging
On many TVs, repeatedly selecting the build number in About enables developer options. Find network or wireless debugging there; menus vary. USB debugging alone does not mean network ADB is available. Enable debugging only on a trusted home network.
3. Add and authorize
Search for your TV or add it manually using the displayed IPv4 address and connection port. Legacy network ADB often uses port 5555, but follow your device's settings. Approve the prompt on the TV after confirming it came from your phone.
4. Six-digit pairing
Open Pair device with pairing code on your TV. Enter its pairing port and six-digit code. After pairing, connect using the connection port on the main wireless debugging screen. These ports are different. Pairing compatibility across firmware still needs testing.
If connection fails
Check that the TV is awake, the address is current, the port is correct and the authorization prompt has been approved. Restarting wireless debugging may change the port. Turn off network debugging when finished or revoke authorizations you no longer trust.
