Connect your TV or box

Your phone does not need developer options enabled. Your TV must support and enable network debugging.

Find debugging settings on your TV

Use these menu routes as a starting point; firmware updates can change the labels. These are step diagrams, not screenshots of TV settings.

Sony · Android TV / Google TV

  1. Settings → System / Device preferences
  2. About → Build number: press 7 times
  3. Return to Developer options and find debugging

A USB debugging switch alone does not guarantee network ADB. Confirm that your firmware provides it, then use the TV IP and actual connection port.

Android boxes · including Amlogic platforms

  1. Settings → About → Build number
  2. Developer options → Network / Wireless debugging
  3. Record IP; distinguish connection and pairing ports

Android 14 can still use traditional network debugging. The OS version alone does not tell you whether a six-digit code is needed. Amlogic is a platform, not a guarantee of identical menus.

We do not yet have verified menu records for Xiaomi, TCL, Hisense or Skyworth. Follow the settings on your firmware and provide the full model and OS version if the option is missing; a brand name alone does not establish compatibility.

Recognize the three kinds of authorization

Debugging approval on the TV

Approve the request from your current phone on the TV; NATNT@Android is a common label. If no prompt appears, check the IP, port and local network first.

Six-digit pairing

The pairing dialog shows the pairing port. After pairing, return to the wireless-debugging page and use its connection port. The six-digit code is not a port.

Screen sharing on the phone

Phone casting requires Android screen-sharing consent. Choose the whole screen or one app. This is separate from the TV debugging approval.

1. Check devices and network

Use an Android 8.0+ phone and a TV or box with network ADB support. Wi-Fi and Ethernet can work together on the same local network. Guest networks or access-point isolation may block the connection.

2. Enable TV debugging

On many TVs, repeatedly selecting the build number in About enables developer options. Find network or wireless debugging there; menus vary. USB debugging alone does not mean network ADB is available. Enable debugging only on a trusted home network.

3. Add and authorize

Search for your TV or add it manually using the displayed IPv4 address and connection port. Legacy network ADB often uses port 5555, but follow your device's settings. Approve the prompt on the TV after confirming it came from your phone.

4. Six-digit pairing

Open Pair device with pairing code on your TV. Enter its pairing port and six-digit code. After pairing, connect using the connection port on the main wireless debugging screen. These ports are different. Pairing compatibility across firmware still needs testing.

Discovery and web management

The Devices page discovers the local subnet while in the foreground. Saved IP addresses are excluded from discovery results. Icons infer device types from services; they do not confirm a brand or remote-control support. Routers and NAS devices may provide web management links. TVs that do not appear can still be added using their IP and debugging port.

If connection fails

Check that the TV is awake, the address is current, the port is correct and the authorization prompt has been approved. Restarting wireless debugging may change the port. Turn off network debugging when finished or revoke authorizations you no longer trust.
